JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Mass Academy seeks a visiting scholar in STEM education. In STEM, the candidate will participate in the STEM I research course as a project advisor, be a co-teacher for the STEM II Assistive Technology course. In Physics, Computer Science, or Math, the candidate would work with students in support of the lead teacher in the subject area. The candidate would also teach/advise one or two elective/extracurricular activities per term in both academic/non-academic areas of their strength.

A main skill we seek in a candidate is the ability to teach CAD (Solidworks) and run and maintain our Makerspace/3-D print lab which supports many research projects.

Other duties may include representing the Academy on state and regional boards of WRSEF, MSEF, attending outreach events such as STEM Summit, MAST and other Professional Development and outreach activities, developing internship and community service opportunities, and to develop programs like summer camps for middle and high school students.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Work and/or teaching experience in physics, mathematics, engineering, robotics and/or other related fields is preferred. Master's degree preferred. Experience working with high school students and licensure requirements of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts/DESE expected. Detailed knowledge of 3D printing technology and CAD is strongly preferred.
