JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
A full-time research technician position is available in the Pins Lab at WPI. Our lab use has developed cutting edge scaffolds for creating engineered skin substitutes to treat traumatic burn injuries. The successful candidate will learn and implement basic cell culture and immunohistochemical processes as well as novel biomaterials scaffold fabrication and characterization techniques.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

- fabricating biomaterials scaffolds,

- culturing cells on the scaffolds,

- analyzing cellular responses with fluorescent / confocal microscopy and

- measuring controlled release of therapeutic factors from cells

- mechanical characterization of scaffolds

Preferred Qualifications:

BS in Biomedical Engineering or related field
Strong communication, writing, organization and record-keeping skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
