JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Medical FUSION Lab is looking for a talented post-doctoral fellow with an interest in advanced ultrasound imaging and beamforming and ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging-related research for its fully funded scholarships.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who could be engaged in research scopes that our group is currently exploring.

Suggested Prerequisites: Strong background in ultrasound/photoacoustic/optical imaging.

Skills: Strong communication (oral presentation and writing), ultrasound sensing and beamforming, and computer programming, and related skills.

This specific position requires experience in ultrasound device instrumentation, beamforming and image reconstruction.

You should be capable of working in a team-oriented environment and able to independently solve problems.

If you have little or no experience with ultrasound, photoacoustic, and/or optics, this position will likely not be a good fit for you.

The compensation is based on the WPI standard with accordance of previous experience.

About Medical FUSION Lab

Medical FUSION (Frontier Ultrasound Imaging and Robotic Instrumentation) Lab focuses on the interface of medical robotics, sensing, and imaging, and to develop robotic assisted imaging systems as well as image-guided robotic interventional platforms, where ultrasound and photoacoustic (PA) imaging are two key modalities to be investigated and integrated with robotics. Ultrasound delineates structural information, and compares favorably with other imaging modalities with its high degree of safety, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness. PA imaging is a hybrid imaging modality merging light and ultrasound, and reveals tissue metabolism and molecular distribution with the utilization of endo- and exo-genous contrast agents. With the emergence of PA imaging, conventional ultrasound and PA imaging can comprehensively depict not only anatomical but also functional information of biological tissue.
