JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
A full-time position of one post-doctoral fellow is requested to work with Professor Zhang on his collaborative DARPA grant with Brown University and John Hopkins University. The post-doctoral fellow will assist Professor Zhang in mathematical analysis and simulation proposed in his DARPA grant. Fully funded by the DARPA grant, the post-doctoral fellow will work full-time for 12 months.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

Perform mathematical analysis and simulation for the neural networks approximation (NNA) for multiphysics and multiscale systems

Investigate 1) stability analysis of the considered complex systems, 2) convergence analysis of the NNA for functionals and nonlinear operators, and 3) complexity analysis of the NNA based on the convergence in 2).

Analyze and improve the performance of the NNA as universal approximations in learning functions, functionals, and nonlinear operators.

Present and discuss weekly work progress with Professor Zhang and his collaborators at Brown University and John Hopkins University

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics

Knowledge and expertise in at least one of the following areas: numerical analysis, partial differential equations, functional analysis

Knowledge and expertise in Matlab/C/C++ and Python

Experience in performing collaborative research.
