(Job #22-68) Project Coordinator, Administrative Analyst/Specialist I-Exempt, $3,897 - $7,051 monthly. Appointments are typically made at the beginning of the salary range. This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, 12-month pay plan, permanent position with a one-year probationary period in Information Technology Services (ITS) in the ITS Project Office. Position Summary:
The ITS Project Coordinator will join a highly dynamic and effective team responsible for Project Coordination, Business Analysis & Consulting and Change Management and Operational Support for projects and other initiatives involving ITS resources and of a technical nature. Using various project management methodologies and the ADKAR Change Management model, this position will help lead the Cal Poly Humboldt Transformation across a wide variety of technical and functional areas on the campus.


Key Responsibilities:
The essential job functions assigned to this position include:
Help support ITS teams and improve ongoing operations, support broad campus Initiatives as the campus transforms to a Cal Poly.
Participate in all phases of the project life cycle utilizing agile, waterfall, flow, lean or other methodologies with a "fit to purpose" intent.
Create and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, tasks, resources, dependencies, timelines and status throughout the life of the project, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Resolve project risks and issues in a timely manner, escalating conflicts to management as appropriate.
Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with project teams and stakeholders composed of ITS
directors/managers and staff, campus staff, the Chancellor's Office, consultants, and vendors. This includes
facilitating project team meetings and promoting communication and cooperation among campus departments.
Contribute to continual process improvements by soliciting feedback from project stakeholders, capturing
lessons learned and implementing solutions.
Coach, mentor and motivate others to help them achieve project expectations and deliverables; particularly in areas of discovery and requirements development and project estimating /sizing.
Provide subject matter expertise and support for ITS Leads and teams as well as other campus organizations that wish to implement project management best practices, tools and techniques.

including commercial off-the-shelf, open source, SaaS, and in-house developed products.
Demonstrated ability to use organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects and
activities simultaneously.
Demonstrated successful collaboration within a work-group in a diverse workplace environment and ability to
build successful relationships with customers, coworkers and administrators.
Experience with various project management software applications.


Minimum Qualifications:
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in Project Management with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.


Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field from a four-year college or university.
PMP or CAPM certification
Knowledge of IT systems and applications including access controls, networks, system integration and/or
databases; experience with enterprise level database applications and document management/automated
workflow systems.
Superior leadership, change management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read communication styles and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources across organizational units and internal teams who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
