JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
WPI's Small Business Digitization Services Initiative (SBDSI) is looking for students and recent alumni who have a background, or willingness to learn, in web design and creation, including SEO, ecommerce, and scheduling systems. This initiative was created to help local small businesses and non-profits create, or enhance, their digital presence especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Students/ Alumni will commit 5-20 hours per week depending on academic school year course load, and/or summer availability. This is a great supplement to any internships/jobs and can fit into your schedule as needed. Students can choose when they would like to participate on an on-going basis depending on their schedule.

This role serves as a consultant and direct contact with the client. Students will be paired with at least one other student based on experience and availability. They will have a virtual kick-off introductory meeting with the client and SBDSI team lead(s) to assess the nature of the business or service provided, assess the client's ability to understand, learn and use technology, formulate a list of needs, review existing digital tools, prioritize what can be improved or implemented within the 2-4 week timeframe. Students will research potential solutions, make recommendations to managers and owners, implement, test, and evaluate solutions, train clients if needed, and report outcomes in a final presentation to client and SBDSI team leads. Students will then submit a brief "success story" once client is satisfied.
