JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Graduate Enrollment department is a high functioning branch in Graduate Studies whose responsibility is to manage all graduate admissions activities including application review, application communications, application decisions, successful handoff of admitted students to Student Success, as well as PhD marketing, recruitment, and communications. Graduate Enrollment works closely with other Graduate Studies departments including marketing, recruiting, and student success.

Graduate Enrollment is undergoing the final stages of a re-organization and is rearranging job responsibilities as well as processes and procedures. The Assistant Director will play a key role in helping to design a new highly functioning Graduate Enrollment department alongside the two Associate Directors and the Executive Director of Graduate Studies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Directors job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Application review, evaluation, and decision making for programs across the university including science, engineering, and business.
  • Manage all aspects of the Graduate Admissions webpages and update as necessary
  • Owner of the official transcript process - collecting final and official transcripts from all incoming graduate students.
  • Slate CRM super user. Will be responsible for the following in Slate:
    • Processing decision and funding letters
    • Processing deferral requests
    • Moving applications and changing programs
    • Attending to basic data requests and reports
    • Setting up and updating application forms
    • Creating communications and mailings
  • Assist with the Fulbright scholar program, including processing forms for incoming students, renewing tuition for returning students, and accurately tracking the program composition in coordination with the Associate Director
  • Assist with the annual PhD visit, orientation, BS/MS information session and other events in coordination with the Associate Director
  • Support the Graduate Studies email inbox
  • Provide weekly coverage for office hours
  • Assist with other admissions related activities as required including marketing and enrolled student handoff to the Student Success team.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required, or equivalent experience
  • CRM experience, preferably with Slate
  • 1-2 years of professional work experience preferably in a higher education admission setting
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Flexible and independent work ethic
  • Excellent writing skills
