Activities are grounded in multi-campus (UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, and UC Davis) and multidisciplinary teaching programs in medicine, nursing, public health, environmental health sciences, and related fields. These interdisciplinary activities educate future leaders in occupational and environmental health, develop new knowledge, and bring the resources of the University of California to the public.

The Northern California COEH seeks a highly experienced occupational and environmental health professional to lead collaborative activities across multiple disciplines on three UC campuses (Berkeley, Davis, and San Francisco), and provide direction and leadership for overall strategic planning and continuous program improvement.

  • Leading interdisciplinary curriculum, research, and service collaborations across the academic, research training, and community outreach programs.
  • Independently facilitate interdisciplinary and intercampus training (i.e., field trips), clinical/practical experience, community events (i.e., symposiums, awards), and research opportunities requiring creativity and flexibility through technology and hybrid classrooms.
  • Attend COEH meetings, local and nationwide, to help gain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in occupational and environmental health to prepare stakeholders/experts to meet the needs of the workforce.
  • Support all grant writing and fundraising for the Center.
  • Provide oversight and lead the compilation and analysis of qualitative and quantitative evaluation data into an annual report for internal analysis driving center-wide strategic planning and program improvements.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve activities such as accreditation efforts.
  • Linkage support and involvement of key collaborators, including funders, agencies, other researchers, labor, businesses, and communities.
  • Supervision of student staff and co-supervision of staff and program directors.
