PI Dr. Seth Tuler (environmental science and policy), along with co-PIs Sarah Strauss (anthropology), Carrick Eggleston (civil/environmental engineer), Steve McCauley (geography), Oleg Pavlov (economics & systems dynamics), and Lisa Stoddard (geography) of Worcester Polytechnic Institute are looking to hire one research assistant to assist in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data on land use choices in Massachusetts, with the goal of learning to facilitate more equitable and effective integrated land use planning and management.


Responsibilities include: 1) the researching of existing published documents and data; 2) preparing for interviews - research on potential participants, deeper research on select participants, preparing interview questions; 3) semi-structured interviews, focus groups; 4) data analysis and data representation; 5) qualitative data analysis, possibly using NVIVO software; 6) literature reviews and writing up of findings for report. Opportunities include publications and presentations in various areas of geography, environmental studies, climate studies, and other arenas.
