JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Nechipurenko Lab at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is looking for a self-motivated individual to join as a full-time research technician. The lab investigates cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuronal development (with focus on primary cilia) in C. elegans and mammalian cells.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and organize C. elegans strains and oversee maintenance of lab reagent databases
Make common buffers and stock solutions
Carry out molecular biology and biochemistry experiments such as PCR, plasmid construction, and protein pull-down assays
Perform high-resolution microscopy on live and fixed samples

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. and/or M.S. in Biology or a related field
Strong communication, organization, and record keeping skills
Molecular biology experience
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
A minimum two-year commitment with the possibility of long-term employment
