Associate Director, US Contracting Strategy & Analytics

This position will have responsibility to develop the US managed care strategy across government and private insurance markets for in-line and/or near-term pipeline assets as well as analytics around patient services data.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Experienced working knowledge of Managed Markets (e.g. flow of product and dollars across the distribution chain, government pricing regulations, typical contracting terms and approaches) as well as key healthcare related datasets (e.g. IQVIA, SHA, Model N, formulary data)
  • Able to influence senior management by distilling complex analytics and insights in an easily digestible presentation
  • Ability to collaborate and influence key business partners including National Account Managers, Commercial/Government Contracting & Pricing, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Legal
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and execute across multiple urgent deliverables
  • Outstanding analytical skills including building complex excel models that integrate inputs from multiple data sources to enable robust scenario planning


Responsibilities:
  • Develop models and analytics to support all phases of contracting, including proposal development, approval and performance-monitoring
  • Partner with Marketing teams to ensure Managed Care strategy aligns with brand objectives
  • Monitor competitive product landscape and trends related to payer reimbursement, and determine implications to Gilead's product portfolio
  • Work with Managed Markets leadership team to understand customer and industry trends, as they relate to contracted and potentially contracted customers
  • Drive alignment across senior leadership at contracting steering committee meetings
  • Conduct analytics to support distribution strategy and patient support services


Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
  • 10 years working experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry with a BA/BS OR 8 years working experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry with a MA/MS OR 2 years working experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry with a PhD.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantitative field such as Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Engineering preferred
  • Intermediate level Excel and Tableau skills
  • Experience in HCV, HIV, or Oncology therapeutic areas desired
  • Experience in Managed Markets / Contracting / Payer Analytics preferred
