JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
One-year appointment as a non-tenure track faculty member in the Organizational Behavior and Change (OBC) discipline within The Business School for the purpose of sabbatical coverage. Assignment includes a six-course teaching load and service commensurate with maintain AACSB "participating faculty" guidelines.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Nine-month non-tenure track faculty appointment for one year beginning in August 2023 and ending in May 2024

  • Six-course teaching load; may be done at the undergraduate or graduate level depending on the needs of the Department

  • Service commensurate with maintaining AACSB "participating faculty" guidelines, to include three or more of the following areas:

    o Serving on ad-hoc committees and task forces (including search committees),

    o Participating in school (i.e., WBS) and university (i.e., WPI) governance

    o Serving as academic advisors (including project advising and advising UG, MS, or PhD research activities),

    o Completing administrative work related to the operations of the school (including performing administrative roles such as program director, course coordinator, WBS committee chair, and grant PI)

    o Advising student organizations or working with business community boards as representatives of WPI

    o Participating in curriculum development and/or learning assessment

    o Engaging in other significant student or operational activities of the school (including participating in and providing input to faculty or student orientation, school department meetings and retreats, faculty mentoring, and school strategic planning)

    o Creating scholarly or practice-oriented intellectual contributions.

  • Completion of the Faculty Annual Review Process, including data entry in Watermark Faculty Success and Workday

  • This position is in the Department Head's supervisory chain and collaboration with faculty in the OBC discipline, other disciplines within The Business School, and faculty within other Departments is expected

  • The person in this position will undergo New Faculty Orientation provided by the University in August 2023

  • An office within The Business School and necessary information technology equipment will be provided
