Summary


The Natural and Social Sciences Department at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Firelands College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in Mathematics. This nine-month, renewable faculty appointment will be based on the Bowling Green main campus and is primarily focused on teaching in the Pathway Program, beginning in August 2025.

The Pathway Program is a one-year transitional support initiative for first-year students who demonstrate potential for college success but benefit from additional academic and social support. This program helps students build a strong foundation for academic success at BGSU.

Essential Functions


  • Teach 12 credit hours per semester in introductory statistics, college algebra, precalculus, or real-world math.
  • Online and evening teaching may be required.
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Participate in department, college, and university service activities.


Minimum Qualifications

- A master's degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment
- Evidence of effective teaching potential in undergraduate mathematics courses, which may include but is notlimited to graduate teaching assistantships, teaching evaluations, and graduate supervisor/peer evaluations.
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the profession.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching mathematics courses at the undergraduate level, including as an appointed faculty,adjunct faculty, or graduate student.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, which may include but is not limited to teaching evaluations, peerevaluations, evidence of innovative teaching practices, and experience with online instruction in mathematics.
- Experience with interdisciplinary approaches, online instruction, and innovative teaching practices.
