The College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in Exercise Science beginning August 2026. Candidates are expected to advance the strategic growth of the Exercise Science Program though innovative undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, active research with undergraduate involvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and contributions to accreditation and inclusive excellence in teaching, research, and service.

The successful applicant will ordinarily teach courses in Sport Nutrition, Clinical Exercise Testing, Exercise Prescription for Special Populations, Motor Control and/or Statistics for Exercise Science, which may change based on departmental needs. There may also be opportunities to teach our innovative general education and interdisciplinary courses. An active scholarly/research/artistic agenda with peer-reviewed publications, presentations, performances, exhibitions, or other accomplishments are expected for successful tenure and promotion. Service to the department, college, and university includes advising students, contributing to student recruitment and retention, and maintaining a current, evidence-based curriculum that reflects culturally responsive and inclusive practices.
